Everyone is always all about “Mask Monday” but I am really more of a, mask always, anytime! Multimask (the action of multitasking while masking) is one of my favorite things to do.
One thing I have been especially obsessed with as of late has been skin care and my beauty routine. Over the past 6 months my skin has changed drastically and with that came trying to find the best new products for me. Needless to say I am basically living off of product samples but finally found some that I love thanks to the Origins samples I received from Influenster.
If there is one thing I love it is lipstick, lip stain and whatever else falls into those categories. What I don’t love is re-applying all day because realistically I forget or don’t take the moment at work to find it in my bag and search out a mirror (because yes I am afraid to apply without looking). I thought I found the end all be all with Kylie Cosmetics ( which I am still obsessed with) but I found something else that can last all day too and at a much better price point.
Maybelline Super Stay 24 really did stay on all day and it was even incredibly hard to get off when I wanted it off ( a few mornings I still had some left on ). The top color is called Keep Up The Flame and bottom is Constant Toast.
This is Keep Up The Flame after a very long day! It lasted through an entire 8 hr work day which included drinking a coffee, and eating lunch. Followed by working out, eating dinner, bathing the pups and having a drink!
I do have to say that in order for this to last so long without cracking and peeling is the balm portion, you HAVE to apply it all throughout the day. So you do still have to have the product on you all day vs Kylie Cosmetics that I apply and just leave at home. The balm is super conditioning though and keeps the shine up if thats what you are in the mood for.
Constant Toast was really close to my skin tone and was extra shimmery which I am not as into. I would probably use it if I was going to an event and wanted something lighter. Keep Up The Flame was the perfect red on me! So I definitely recommend that color if you have a more fair tone.
I do think that the applicator is a bit too big, so if I could I would have them adjust that to make it smaller. Overall though I would recommend this product especially at the price point of $8.99 from Ulta and they are BOGO 50% off.
I did receive these from Influenster for review purposes but everything is my own true opinion ( I was really surprised I actually liked this product). I am going to buy a couple other colors to try out and see if they have a more matte effect than the Constant Toast which I have a feeling they might be since Keep Up The Flame wasn’t as shimmery.
These will also be coming with me to Cali next week ! Try them out and let me know what you think!
I remember hearing about the blog Into The Gloss when I was at Teen Vogue Fashion University a few years back and Emily Weiss was one of the speakers. This was years before the concept of Glossier (her spin off skincare line) but I am so glad I could follow along. Now I have to admit this review is a little late in the game, but buying all new skincare wasn’t quite in the budget when it came out and then big surprise it was sold out! I can say that I am so glad I did finally make the purchase.
I am literally the definition of a workaholic. I work 40 hours a week, I am in school at AAU and obviously run this blog on top of taking care of the house and animals. I am certainly not complaining as I love my life but I’m always working harder to get to where I want to be and help others along the way. But at some point its okay to take a day (or more) to yourself, which is what I did last night. Not only will you feel good but your mind will be sharper and you will be more energetic to tackle everything on your plate.
A few things I love that I typically think about a few times a day when making purchases is my community and the environment. This translates into how I take care of myself, the things I buy, and the places I shop. (By no means am I perfect at sticking to things & places that are 110% green or non corporations, but I try).
With that being said, I ran into a friend today that was freaking out because she has a sty, is breaking out and her engagement party is this weekend. Luckily I had some solutions for her that are totally easy and non-harmful to yourself or the environment!
Number 1 recommendation:
After falling complete head over heels with the Kylie Cosmetics Glosses I finally got my hands on the Matte liquid Lipstick & Liner. My best friend was able to score them for me while she was in Cali so I patiently waited for her to bring them back for me!
When I first heard that Kylie Jenner was going to be coming out with her lip kits I was truly skeptical and rebelled pretty hard. Not only do I like to see if the hype is going to cool and the truth of the product will come out but I also like to go about my life with minimal Kardashian/Jenner obsession.
After a few rounds of her quick re-stock and sell outs my best friend texted me telling she ordered one and I finally said okay I’m in lets try them out. The following week she announced her glosses and we teamed up to make sure we could snag some. (pro-tip: team up with a friend for limited or quick releases. Both of you try and then whoever gets it first let the other know and if you both score you can always keep the extra or re-sell.)
In this case I snagged three Literally and three Like. They were the first ones I saw so I got what I could and luckily I just went with that because they were gone one second later.
My true honest opinion is that… they are amazing! I have been on the search for good lip-wear for about a year now and I really think these have filled the gap. They are smooth and soft, not sticky, and highly saturated with color. They aren’t overly shiny which I attribute to the high pigment. I was also afraid that they would be way too dark on my fair skin but they are actually perfect.
Like is the darkest and Literally is the lighter one shown here.
To address all the heat about the brushes: Mine had a few bristle sticking out but really nothing dramatic. After a couple uses they stopped and I don’t hold that against her at all.
Overall: Highly Recommend, I almost don’t want to wear them because I don’t want to run out.
Check out her full website here. I find Instagram best to find out the day they will be restocking and Snapchat to find out the moment on that day they are going live.
My best friend ordered me some mattes so I can’t wait to try those and although I’m a bit late I will certainly let you know how I feel about those too.
