I know its been a bit since my last post but I am so excited to have you all here on the new website with my new name, Sippin’ & Shoppin’. Some of you may be wondering why I chose to re-brand or some of you may be wondering who I am in the first place and I hope this clears it up a bit.
Well my name is Lilly, I work in retail as a Visual Merchandiser and I am also finishing my degree in Fashion Merchandising from Academy of Art University. I had always wanted to have a blog and share myself, thoughts, experiences and of course style yet started and failed many. Finally there was a credited class at school I could take around blogging and I thought this is my opportunity to learn more about it and really establish some blogging discipline, and Marchande de Mode was born.
This is from the very first photoshoot I ever did for Marchande de Mode, shot by Eyleen Torres.
It has been about a year and half since the launch of Marchande de Mode and I have had so much with it but I have also learned more than I could imagine. Some of what I have learned is what has gotten me to this point. Starting the blog in a course was great for many reasons however it restricted me to certain platforms, certain post assignments for a while and overall having to pick my name and a really specific niche very quick.
When I chose Marchande de Mode it with the intention of being a pure fashion blog and the name has such a historical significance which I loved too. However it is so hard to explain to each and every person along with the challenge of spelling it out and hoping someone remembered. I also found myself feeling stuck in just trying to post about fashion. Granted style and fashion is huge to me but what I really wanted out of the blog was so much more. This is where the name Sippin’ & Shoppin’ really comes into play.
I wanted the blog to not only be fashion and style related in terms of clothing but potentially some home, I wanted it to be more of a place where I can share my skincare tips, life hacks, and things that I wish someone would have told me when I was younger (or even now). Overall think about it as us girls having a drink ( coffee, tea, wine or whatever else you like to stay hydrated) and chatting away about all things life. I mean if you know me I always have some sort of drink in my hand (look for some fun bev post soon! ) and I could tell you where to find what your looking for in a heart beat or how to solve your problem of an itchy bug bite to boy troubles and anything in between.
So I hope that clears it up a bit and I really hope you enjoy the new website and the new post coming. I encourage you to give feedback and ask questions! Tell me what you have an issue with or something you can’t seem to style right.
Most of all THANK YOU to everyone that has followed me on this journey and continues to support me, and welcome to any newcomers!
